The Drawing Twist Effect lets you twist you 'most recent' drawing about a center point. The effect imparts a spiral to the Drawing.|
The Drawing Twist Effect is identical to the Drawing Effect with the addition of a twist about a specified center.
If you enable the Fit To Brush Option you will paint with the Current Rotate Drawing sized to your brush.

Under normal use, each time you stop painting on the Canvas (eg., lift your finger) the current Canvas is stored in a special texture called the Drawing Texture.
You can change this behavior using the Drawing Control icon on the Control Pane. You can turn off the automatic saving of the Canvas into the Drawing Texture, and instead specify manually when you want the Drawing Texture updated.
Leaving Drawing on automatic update allows you to paint with 'feedback'. Each time you start painting, what you painted last will be used as input to what you are painting now.
Putting Drawing on manual update lets you treat the last Canvas stored in the Drawing Texture as a more permanent texture, not changing each time you paint.
Also keep in mind that unlike other Textures, which automatically orient to the device orientation, the Drawing Texture, because it is a copy of the Canvas, does not auto-orient, but stays in the original orientation it was created in.
The Drawing Twist Effect has the following Options Pane:|
|Center X:||This specifies the X (horizontal) center of the twist on the Canvas. A value of 0.0 is the left side of the Canvas, 0.5 the center, and 1.0 the right side of the Canvas.
|Center Y:||This specifies the Y (vertical) center of the twist on the Canvas. A value of 0.0 is the bottom of the Canvas, 0.5 the center, and 1.0 the top of the Canvas.
|Radius:||This is how far out from the center the twist goes until it stops. Low values are very close to the center, large values move further away until it is the full Canvas size.
|Twist:||This is the amount of desired Twist. Low values add very little twist to the image, high values add more and more till you get full distortion. Positive values twist clockwise, negative values twist counter-clockwise.
|Fit To Brush:||If set to a Red X the Effect spans the screen such that as you paint you reveal the Effect. When set to a Green Check Mark the Effect is sized to the brush such that as you paint the entire Effect is within the brush itself.|
|Output Color 1:||By default this is set to REPLACE which means that the set color will be output to Color 1. You can change this as explained in Options Pane Color Mixers.|
|Output Color 2:||By default this is set to IGNORE which means that the Color 2 will be ignored (the original Color 2 will be kept). You can change this as explained in Options Pane Color Mixers.|
To show the Drawing Twist Effect we started by placing our orchid photo into the Drawing buffer. The photo looks like this:|
We then did a Twist with the default values:
Now setting a Twist to a full 10.0 gives us an extremely distorted twisted image:
Keeping our Twist to a full 10.0 as in the last image, but setting the Radius to a small value, only twists a bit of the Canvas:
