      Effect:Texture
      Category:Color Sources
      Speed:Fast

Description: The Texture Effect lets you use any of the 5 Texture or Noise slots in the Texture Pane and use that Texture in your painting. Since you can use multiple Effects at the same time, you can use multiple Texture Effects with different Textures (up to 5). Textures are either Noise or a Photo from your Photo Album.

The Texture Effect is the most basic. It lets you paint one of the 5 Textures where ever you stroke on the Canvas.

If you enable the Fit To Brush Option you will paint with the Texture sized to your brush.

Options: The Texture Effect has the following Options Pane:

Texture Slot:Use this to select the Texture Slot you want to user from the Texture Pane. The dark green circle is the currently selected Texture, the lighter yellowish circles are not selected. Remember that any Texture slot can contain either a Photo from your Photo Album, or Noise. The Texture slot you pick does not have to have a Texture in it yet - however, if you try to paint you will get a warning that you need to load a missing Texture.
Invert Red:If set to a Red X, the Red channel is not color inverted. If set to a Green Check Mark the Red Channel is color inverted.
Invert Green:If set to a Red X, the Green channel is not color inverted. If set to a Green Check Mark the Green Channel is color inverted.
Invert Blue:If set to a Red X, the Blue channel is not color inverted. If set to a Green Check Mark the Blue Channel is color inverted.
Invert Alpha:If set to a Red X, the Alpha (transparency) channel is not color inverted. If set to a Green Check Mark the Alpha (transparency) Channel is color inverted.
Flip Vertically:If set to a Red X, the Texture is not flipped vertically. If set to a Green Check Mark the Texture is flipped vertically.
Flip Horizontally:If set to a Red X, the Texture is not flipped horizontally. If set to a Green Check Mark the Texture is flipped horizontally.
Fit To Brush:If set to a Red X the Effect spans the screen such that as you paint you reveal the Effect. When set to a Green Check Mark the Effect is sized to the brush such that as you paint the entire Effect is within the brush itself.
Output Color 1:By default this is set to REPLACE which means that the set color will be output to Color 1. You can change this as explained in Options Pane Color Mixers.
Output Color 2:By default this is set to IGNORE which means that the Color 2 will be ignored (the original Color 2 will be kept). You can change this as explained in Options Pane Color Mixers.

Example: To show the Texture Effect we started by using the Texture Pane to load a Photo from our Photo Album. In this case, a picture of our recent trip to Arches National Park:

We then painted on a white screen using a round brush. Note that everywhere we paint the Texture is revealed:

In the next image we have used the Fit To Brush option, which fits the entire Texture to our Brush. We then painted the left stroke below. We then turn on the Invert Red option and painted the middle stroke. Finally, we added Invert Green and Invert Blue and painted the right stroke:
